Crystal Lake Sets Peacock Date for Jason’s Return

Crystal Lake (2025)

Crystal Lake hits Peacock on October 15, 2026, ending Jason’s longest screen absence with A24’s Pamela Voorhees origin story for Friday the 13th fans.

Crystal Lake, the long-awaited Friday the 13th prequel series from A24 and Peacock, will premiere on Thursday, October 15, 2026, bringing Jason Voorhees back to the screen after the longest absence in franchise history.

The last full-length Friday the 13th project was the 2009 Platinum Dunes remake, directed by Marcus Nispel. By the time Crystal Lake arrives, fans will have waited 17 years and 8 months for an official return to Camp Blood — not counting 2025’s Sweet Revenge short from Jason Universe.

Created and showrun by Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome to Derry), the eight-episode series will explore the early mythology of Crystal Lake, with Linda Cardellini starring as Pamela Voorhees and Callum Vinson playing young Jason.

For longtime fans, that choice matters. Before the hockey mask, before the sequels turned Jason into horror’s most unstoppable camper, the original wound was Pamela: grief, rage, motherhood and a summer camp that should have been shut down years earlier.

Kane has described the series as a psychological thriller with the flavor of a paranoid ’70s story — less a simple slasher retread, more a character-driven descent into the mythology that created Jason Voorhees.

The cast also includes William Catlett, Cameron Scoggins, Devin Kessler, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, Christopher Denham, Nancy Nagrant and Phoenix Parnevik. Directors attached to the season include Michael Lennox, Celine Held & Logan George and Quyen Tran.

After years of legal complications, false starts and fan frustration, Crystal Lake is no longer just another rumor floating near the dock.

On October 15, 2026, Camp Crystal Lake reopens.

And this time, the story starts before the mask.
