Nancy Nagrant Joins Crystal Lake as Kay Christy

Crystal Lake (2025)

Nancy Nagrant joins Crystal Lake as Kay Christy, Steve’s relative, in the new A24 Peacock prequel. The camp’s bloodline thickens—full cast updates here!

If you thought Crystal Lake’s history was already tangled, think again. The upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series just added another familiar bloodline to its roster: actress Nancy Nagrant is stepping in as Kay Christy, a relative of the ill-fated Steve Christy, last seen sweating bullets and handing out axes in the 1980 original.

Kay’s arrival guarantees more than just another Christy on the payroll—expect some heavy lore expansion, as the series peels back the layers of what (and who) haunts Camp Crystal Lake. For newcomers: Steve Christy (Peter Brouwer) tried valiantly to revive the cursed camp, only to meet the wrong end of Mrs. Voorhees’ revenge. Will Kay share the same optimism—or had the same fate?

Nagrant’s Resume: From Law & Order to Crystal Lake

Nancy Nagrant isn’t new to tension or tragedy, with a resume that includes Law & Order: SVU and The Equalizer. Now she’ll appear in at least two episodes: the pilot, “The Great Pretender,” and episode two, “Are You Experienced?”—a title that already has fans theorizing about flashbacks, lies, and maybe even a hallucinatory campfire or two.

Full Cast: The Icons Return, Reborn

The Crystal Lake cast is shaping up to be a horror historian’s dream:

  • Callum Vinson as a young Jason Voorhees

  • Linda Cardellini as the legendary Mrs. Voorhees

  • Cameron Scoggins as Dorf

  • Nick Cordileone as Crazy Ralph

  • Danielle Kotch as Claudette

  • Phoenix Parnevik as Barry

All names ripped straight from the bloody blueprints of the 1980 classic. For those keeping score, that’s almost the entire original crew—plus some fresh faces doomed to regret their summer jobs.

Filming in the Heart of Crystal Lake Country

A24 and Peacock aren’t just bringing Crystal Lake back in spirit—they’re rolling cameras on location in West Milford, Ringwood, and soon Blairstown, New Jersey. These are the same haunted corners where Voorhees lore was born. The series is expected to run for eight episodes, helmed by directors Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (The Pitt).

Guiding the machete behind the curtain is showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, with production duties handled by Horror Inc., Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller (Friday the 13th creator), and A24. After 16 years of legal purgatory, Jason’s homecoming is officially in motion.
